SNAP: How far apart should my hands be?

Your hands should be between 24-36 inches apart

The SNAP app provides guidance on arm placement through its interactive voice instructions. However, to ensure the most accurate body composition results, we recommend maintaining a specific distance between your hands during the scan.

For optimal results, we suggest keeping your arms roughly 24 inches apart when fully extended. This distance is ideal for our system to calculate accurate measurements. On the upper end, your arms can be as far as 36 inches apart (approximately 1 meter or a yardstick in the United States).

If your hands are positioned too far apart, the scan may still generate results, but some body measurements could be missing or inaccurate. If this occurs, ask your client to reposition their arms closer to their hips, aiming for the ideal 24 to 36-inch range (wrist to wrist).

To help your client visualize this distance, you can place a piece of tape on the floor or even place a yard stick on the ground. Keep in mind, these adjustments are for achieving the best possible results, and most clients won’t need to make these changes to their stance.

Thank you for using SNAP—we hope this guide helps you get the most out of your scans!
