What Tablet Do I Need to Get for SNAP?

Fit3D Scans can be taken on most iOS iPads & Android Tablets


SNAP by Fit3D is designed as a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) solution and works with most modern Apple iPads and Android tablets.

Already have a tablet? Great!  Please check the required specs below before you pay for the subscription. 

Don't have a tablet? No problem. Below are the models we recommend for a simple, affordable setup.

Does it work on Phones? No. 

Our Recommended Tablets

If you're purchasing a tablet specifically for SNAP, we recommend:

Android

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ — Our preferred Android option
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ — Great lower-cost option

We've also successfully used SNAP with a number of other Samsung Galaxy tablets.

Apple

  • Most modern Apple iPads
  • Requires iPadOS 17.0 or later

SNAP is designed for iPad and is available directly through the Apple App Store.

What if I already own a different tablet?

Try it!

Our goal with SNAP is to make professional 3D body scanning accessible without requiring businesses to purchase expensive proprietary hardware.

Camera and lens characteristics can vary between tablets, so scan performance may vary by device. If you already own a modern Android tablet or iPad, we recommend trying SNAP on your existing device first.

If you're purchasing a new device specifically for Fit3D, stick with one of our recommended models above.

 

Tablets We Know Do NOT Work

Some tablets use camera configurations that are not compatible with SNAP. We have tested or identified the following models as unsupported.

Do not purchase or use these tablets for SNAP:

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 models
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab "Ultra" models
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab "Lite" models

Do I need extra storage or cellular service?

No. The base storage configuration on most modern tablets is more than sufficient for SNAP. Your scans and results are processed through Fit3D's cloud platform rather than being stored locally on the tablet.

64 or 128GB is more than enough memory.

We recommend a reliable Wi-Fi connection.

If you plan to use SNAP at mobile events, a cellular-enabled tablet can be convenient, but it isn't required. Many Fit3D customers simply use their phone's hotspot when Wi-Fi isn't available.
